What we do

Heritage and conservation scaffolding.

Sandstone, listed stock and church work. Consent-aware working inside the National Park, with fixings agreed before anything touches the building.

Scaffold to a rendered period house with sash windows, banner tied on and a boarded platform at eaves height.

Heritage work starts with a question nobody asks on a new build: what are we allowed to touch? Red sandstone, lime mortar and listed fabric do not forgive a drilled anchor in the wrong place, and inside the National Park the consent position has to be understood before the quote goes out, never after.

Egremont and Whitehaven are largely sandstone, and it is a soft stone that spalls if you load it wrong. Churches bring their own problem — you are usually working around a live building with services still running in it.

So we design the scaffold to stand independent of the building wherever we can, and where we do need to tie, we agree exactly where and how with the architect or the conservation officer first.

What's included.

  • Independent scaffolds that carry their own load rather than leaning on historic fabric
  • Tie positions agreed in advance with the architect, surveyor or conservation officer
  • Non-invasive tie options — window and through-ties — used in preference to drilled anchors
  • Tower and spire access, including birdcages inside naves and halls
  • Temporary roofs over open fabric during re-roofing and stonework
  • Working around services, opening hours and church calendars

How we stay compliant.

  • Consent-aware working inside the Lake District National Park
  • Method statements written to the specifics of the building, not a template
  • TG20:21 compliant designs, with calculations for anything the guidance does not cover
  • CISRS operatives who have worked listed stock before
  • Weekly inspections and a handover certificate for the project file
