Most of our domestic work is terraces, semis and render jobs, and most of it happens about four feet from somebody else's front door. That shapes how we do it.
West Cumbrian streets are tight. Half the terraces in Cleator Moor and Egremont have no back access and a pavement barely wide enough for a pushchair, so where the tube goes and where the wagon parks matters to more people than just you.
We knock on next door before we start, keep the footway walkable, and sweep up at the end of the day rather than the end of the job.
What's included.
- Roof scaffolds with edge protection for re-roofing, ridge work and gutter replacement
- Render and pointing platforms at working height, so nobody is stretching off a ladder
- Chimney access, including cantilevered platforms where there is no ground below
- Tied ladder access, with the ladder removed or immobilised out of hours
- A word with the neighbours before we start, and the pavement clear each night
- Alterations mid-job when the builder needs a lift moving
How we stay compliant.
- CISRS operatives and TG20:21 compliant designs on domestic work, same as commercial
- Double guardrails and toe boards on every boarded lift
- Weekly inspection while the scaffold is up, recorded and sent to you
- Handover certificate before anyone works off it
- Public liability cover of £10m
