Where we work

Scaffolding in Workington.

Terraces, estates and industrial stock.

Scaffold to a rendered period house with sash windows, banner tied on and a boarded platform at eaves height.

Workington is a town of three building types stacked on top of each other, and each one wants a different scaffold.

There is the Victorian and Georgian core around Portland Square and Washington Street, the terraces that went up for the steelworks and the rail mill, and the post-war estates at Salterbeck and Northside.

The river matters too. Anyone who was here in 2009 remembers what the Derwent did to Northside bridge, and a lot of the property near the water has been dried out, re-plastered and re-roofed since. That work is still going on.

What we deal with in Workington.

  • Victorian terraces with narrow frontages and no rear access
  • Post-war estate housing, usually rendered and needing edge protection for roof work
  • Georgian stock around Portland Square where fixings need thinking about
  • Industrial units and yards along the harbour and the old works sites
  • Flood-recovery work on property near the Derwent
